We have another fascinating speaker Derelee Potrez-Smith, CEO & Founder, Woolchemy NZ.

Derelee comes from humble beginning growing up in a small farming community in Taranaki and today she is the founder of a wool innovation company called Woolchemy which creates the world’s first wool-based textiles for the global hygiene sector. 

In a previous life, Derelee has been an accomplished software developer and consultant in the IT industry in both the public and private sectors in New Zealand and the United Kingdom.  She has a Bachelor of Engineering in Information Engineering from Massey University.

Derelee is a part of the Women in Leadership Development programme which promotes women in STEM get on to company boards.  Derelee is applying this governance knowledge to help lead the wool industry into new international markets but to also help other women get into directorship roles.  In her spare time, Derelee is a mentor to students through the Young Enterprise Scheme that want to venture into entrepreneurship.
