Description
The National Isotope Centre of Earth Sciences New Zealand hosts a number of different laboratories with teams investigating areas such as climate science, environmental science, and energy materials science, all for the benefit of New Zealand.
This site visit will cover a variety of labs where our scientists will talk about their work including measuring isotopes (type of atom) and how we can use that for all sorts of things from monitoring carbon levels in the atmosphere to tracking the progress of chemical reactions to produce green fuels, and a tour of our refrigerated Ice Core Facility where we store and analyse ice core samples taken from New Zealand glaciers and even Antarctica.
