Aspeq is a Lower Hutt based and New Zealand owned global company that has been providing high-stakes assessments for various regulators since 1992 when it assumed responsibility for pilot and aircraft maintenance engineers from CAA (NZ). Aspeq now delivers all pilot and aircraft engineer examinations in New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Macau and Malaysia. The name Aspeq is built on the component words “assessment” and “specialists”.
Building upon a strong aviation focus, Assessment services are now provided to a variety of sectors including aviation, land transport, building, maritime and financial in New Zealand and Australia and is actively marketing its services in Asia and Middle East.
High-stakes assessment services is the process by which applicants book and sit their examinations or undertake their assessments. The process ensures an accurate, independent and contestable result that will qualify applicants for the licences and other qualifications they are seeking. Typically, such assessments have a public safety or protection objective, such as pilot licences in the aviation sector.
Aspeq operates more than 40 physical examination facilities across Australasia and has operation support centres in Lower Hutt and Canberra. It employees 35 permanent employees plus about 250 part time people across Australia and New Zealand. Assessment services are our Company’s sole focus. We are independent of any training activity and therefore provide service independent of training providers. Our depth of expertise in this specialised field means we remain abreast of changes and developments in technology and assessment theory, and access to domain knowledge as appropriate.

• Building and maintenance of complex, industry-specific question banks
Aspeq’s experience in both the development and delivery of examinations and assessments means that we can assist a regulatory agency introduce an electronic service in a short time frame. We have developed very efficient systems and processes to provide secure examination services that are scalable and globally transportable.
