We appreciate your membership of the Hutt Valley Chamber of Commerce. With your support we can continue our work in the business community, being an active voice for business both regionally and within local government.
Hutt Valley Group is located in County Lane, Silverstream, Upper Hutt.
We are affiliated to New Zealand Riding for the Disabled Association.
We cater to the Hutt Valley region from Te Marua to Eastbourne.
We ride 5 mornings a week.
We have Special Olympics training on a Wednesday morning.
Each day has its own team of coaches and volunteers.
Each week over 35 volunteers willingly give us their time and expertise.
We ride 120 riders per week, and have 2 coaches dedicated to helping these riders achieve
Each rider comes to achieve a special goal, whether it is therapeutic, educational, sporting or recreational.
The cost for riding is half an hour of your time once a week, and $170.00 per rider per term.
Riding develops, improves and promotes:
* balance, co-ordination, posture and muscle tone
* concentration, self-discipline and self-esteem
* perception and spatial awareness
* communication and social skills
* independence and decision making.
Riding is enjoyable and recognised as a competitive sport.
Riding for the Disabled caters for people of all ages who are physically and intellectually challenged.
We use various activities and environments to help our riders achieve their goals
Our riders are referred from:
* Schools
* IHC
* Private individuals
* CCS Early Intervention Centre
* Doctors/Therapists
* Conductive Education
* Wellington Early Intervention Trust
