We appreciate your membership of the Hutt Valley Chamber of Commerce. With your support we can continue our work in the business community, being an active voice for business both regionally and within local government.
The Upper Hutt Cossie Club was formed in 1961 and completely destroyed by fire in 2003. The Club was rebuilt and re-opened in 2005 and is one of the leading clubs in New Zealand.
In recent years it has won many prestigious awards including Upper Hutt Business of the Year, the Top Shop Retail Excellence, the Hospitality Standards Institute Regional Employer of the Year and Excellent in Training award plus the Hutt Valley Tourism and Hospitality.
The club has also won the Best Bar/Club/Tavern at the Upper Hutt business awards on three occasions.
The club which is a member of Clubs NZ has a membership of over 7500. The reason the club continues to enjoy exceptional growth is because of its magnificent modern facilities complimented by a comprehensive entertainment calendar which appeals to the whole family.
There is live entertainment every Friday and Saturday night featuring leading local, national and international acts, and karaoke every Thursday and many Sundays.
The club has two dining options - Vision Restaurant which seats 150 is open for dinner Wednesday-Sunday from 5.30pm and the café operates every day from 9am to late.
For live sport viewing the club has five huge screens and over 30 other large screens, while the stand-alone TAB area incorporates three TAB terminals plus a self-service terminal.
The merger with the Upper Hutt RSA in 2005 has allowed the RSA to retain its identity in Upper Hutt and to continue to support members welfare and organising Poppy Day and Anzac Day plus sporting tournaments.
The club is a popular venue for functions and there are numerous packages representing outstanding value available for weddings, 21st’s, seminars etc catering for up to 300 people.
