Education to Employment: Business Leaders

Are you a business interested in partnering with your local high school? Do you have employees who attended these schools and want to give back to their community?
The Education to Employment initiative bridges the gap between the workplace and Hutt Valley students, shaping the next generation of New Zealand’s workforce.

Hutt Valley Education to Employment Coordination Service

CONNECTING YOUNG PEOPLE AND SCHOOLS WITH LOCAL EMPLOYERS

The Education to Employment Coordination Service facilitates and supports the engagement of employers and the local business community in vocational education. Our goal is to create valuable employment and development opportunities for young people, helping them to build a successful future.

Can your business offer paid or unpaid work experience? Do you have apprenticeships or internships available? Would you be open to giving students a tour of your office or worksite so they can see your business in action? Are you willing to visit a school to speak directly to students about your industry, your role, and the career paths available in your sector?

If you’re looking to give back to your community and engage with local students, we’d love to hear from you! Explore the many ways you can make a difference, and let us help you identify the opportunities that suit your business best.

Here are some ways businesses can get involved:

  • Site Visits at Your Business
  • In-School Presentations
  • Participation in School Career Expos
  • Unpaid Work Experience/Shadowing
  • Apprenticeships
  • Internships
  • Casual Employment
  • Holiday Employment
  • Part-Time Employment
  • Full-Time Employment
