Funding and Support for Hutt Valley Businesses
WellingtonNZ has been allocated funding from the Covid-19 Business Advisory Fund, to connect business owners to expert advice and services. This funding has been made available to help Hutt Valley businesses adapt to the challenges of Covid-19.
Up to $5,000 (+ GST) is available to business owners to access advice and support through the Regional Business Partner Network. This funding can be used on a range of registered service providers, depending on the needs of the business.
Advice and assistance can be provided in the following areas:
- HR/Employee relations and legal
- Financial and cashflow management
- Health and wellness
- Business continuity planning
- Marketing strategy
- Digital enablement strategy.

When is this funding available?
Funding is available now and is distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Once approved, you will have six months to complete the professional advisory work, starting from the date the voucher is issued.

Funding closes on 30 October 2020.
Am I eligible?
If you can answer “yes” to the following, you are eligible:
- You own the business
- You have less than 100 full-time staff
- You are GST registered and have a NZ business number
- You have been trading for at least six months
Can I get cash from this fund?
No. You can apply for advice and training from a registered service provider.
Can I use my own accountant or advisor?
Yes, but they must register as a provider.

The Hutt Valley Covid-19 Business Support Group was formed in March 2020 to help Hutt Valley businesses through the implications of Covid-19. This team consists of the Hutt Valley Chamber of Commerce, Upper Hutt City Council and Hutt City Council.
