The Hutt Valley Chamber is deeply disappointed to hear the recent media reports that the Government is reviewing the scope and schedule of its transport programme. This has the potential to cancel the proposed new Melling Interchange development.
Without a new bridge at Melling, plans to upgrade Lower Hutt’s flood protection will be significantly compromised and business will continue to suffer congestion and resultant delays in doing business in the region.
We have submitted a letter to the Minister of Transport, Hon Michael Wood, outlining our concerns and advocating strongly for Melling. You can read the letter here.
