Key Tasks:
- Support clients to stay healthy and well, in alignment with their goals and support plans
- Ensure all paperwork and documentation is accurate and recorded within a timely manner
- Develop and sustain working relationships, using strength based strategies, with clients and clear communication with all others.
- Take a central role, as a key worker to assigned clients, in the provision of support, resources and information tailored to a clients individual needs, maintaining contact with their family/whanau.
- Provide support to enable clients to connect with their community and whanau with recreational, work and cultural experiences.
Key Skillset and Attributes:
- Good listening, oral and written communication skills
- The ability to work effectively with people that may have challenging behaviours and high and complex support needs
- A minimum of beginners level of computer literacy in Microsoft Office software
- Understanding of and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- Respect for and sensitivity to cultural, health and disability needs
- Able to work both independently and part of team with excellent problem solving skills
- Experience in the not for profit sector
