The awards, now in its 14th year, celebrate the dozens of local businesses that contribute to the region’s vibrant and successful business community.

Patrick McKibbin, CEO of Hutt Valley Chamber of Commerce had this to say: “Since joining the Chamber of Commerce last year I have been astounded by the number and calibre of Businesses in our region.

It has been incredible to hear the stories of innovation, adaptability, resilience, and growth that have continued to happen despite the challenges faced over the last two years.

The awards are an opportunity for businesses to celebrate their efforts, drive and determination as well as their contribution to our communities.

“We’re thrilled to partner with the Hutt Valley Chamber of Commerce to present the 2degrees Wellington Regional Business Excellence Awards” says 2degrees Chief Business Officer Andrew Fairgray. “At 2degrees we’re proud to be working with Kiwi businesses to help them adapt and thrive. Our Wellington team see the passion, innovation and dedication of businesses across the region every day, and these awards give us a chance to celebrate them for all they do.”

This year there are 10 categories for the Awards, which include: Manufacturing, Technology and Innovation, Hospitality, Tourism and Retail, Service and Support, Construction, Trades and Infrastructure, Logistics and Export. Not for Profit, Best Emerging Business, Employer Excellence through COVID-19, Environmental Excellence and Hall of Fame.

There is always a diverse range of industries which enter the awards and size is no issue. We receive entries from small, medium and large businesses and each is judged on its own merit. There is a good range of award categories available and all entries received are judged by an independent judging panel.

Save the Date

The overall winner will be selected from the category winners and awarded the Supreme Business of the Year Award.

For the first time this year, the Awards will induct a business into the Hall of Fame.

“The gala event is a great way for many businesses to show their appreciation to the staff and customers by hosting them to a fabulous night out with plenty of entertainment, glitz, great company and of course, a very special dining experience that is sure to wow,” says Mark Skelly, President of the Hutt Valley Chamber of Commerce.

It’s also the perfect time of year to celebrate the end of another year in business. Table bookings will be made available closer to the time.
