Stratmore was incorporated in 1954. It has had several factories in the Hutt and moved to its current location at 185 Rata Street, Naenae in 1987 due to business expansion.
1970 was a landmark year when the first epoxy mortar was developed specifically for our conditions and was sold into New Zealand, Australia and Asia.
The company is still owned by the Stratmore family and 3rd generation family members are working in the company.
Stratmore manufactures and distributes reinforcing, coating, waterproofing and adhesion solutions. Our key audiences are construction and building companies, infrastructure companies/JVs, architects and specifiers, engineers, ready-mix yards, pre-cast companies, DIYers etc. Stratmore’s solutions have been used on major and significant construction projects throughout New Zealand. Some well-known Wellington examples are:
• Clyde Quay Apartments – waterproofing the subterranean carparks
• Museum of New Zealand, Te Papa Tongarewa – various site ‘consumables’
• Westpac Stadium – as above
• Te Wharewaka Building, on the waterfront – waterproofing the floor slab for the building.
Traditionally the company has serviced construction in New Zealand, from Cape Reinga to Bluff, but it has also exported products into the Pacific Islands and SE Asia.
