The Hutt Valley Chamber of Commerce is the voice for local business and provides a wide range of support services, events, promotions and advocacy services for our members and the wider business community.
We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and confident person who enjoys a busy and energetic office environment.
Are you adept at the daily processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable? If you also enjoy understanding the bigger picture and what the numbers are telling us, you could be who we are looking for. We require someone who can spot ways of doing things better and will get on and do it while also getting through their daily accounts work. We’re not after someone who is ok with doing things as they are; we’re looking for someone who wants to improve efficiencies while helping the team achieve its overall organisational goals.
You must have proven experience in:
- Accounts payable
- Accounts receivable
- Credit management
- Regular reporting and analysis
- Cashflow management and reporting.
While experience is important, we are also looking for a people-person who:
- Enjoys being part of a small team
- Enjoys a learning environment that is always looking to improve and find smarter ways to do things
- Enjoys working with all sorts of business people online, on the phone and face to face to achieve results
- Is well organised with attention to detail
- Is an excellent communicator
- Is able to work independently and complete tasks within timeframes
- Is focused, with a great work ethic
- Is always looking for smarter ways to streamline processes
You will be technically savvy and proficient in Xero, MS Word and Excel, while also able to use and learn other systems, such as cashflow management software, customer databases, etc.
The role is part time, 15-20 hours per week and reports directly to the CEO. We are happy to provide flexibility with start and finish times across a five-day week.
You need to have a relevant Work Visa or New Zealand Permanent Residency/Citizenship.
