Who is the Team?
Helen has been Hutt Valley of Chamber of Commerce CEO since 2018. She is extremely passionate about local business, having worked with local business owners for many years, while also running her own businesses. Helen regularly meets with both local and central government, to promote the needs of the local business community.
The covid lockdown fast-tracked some very excellent relationships that have made it much easier to get stuff done and respond well in an extremely challenging situation. We formed some solid, trusting relationships worth more than we ever could have expected, the benefits of which will continue long into the future. Helen continues to be truly inspired by the resilience, innovation and enthusiasm of our business community.

I’m Malcolm Bell and I am a member of the Hutt Valley Chamber of Commerce and Industry with my little consultancy called LGSD Facilitation Services – LGSD stands for Let’s Get Stuff Done.
The Chamber has two contracts in the education to employment transition area – one from the Ministry of Education to provide events and speakers to help with those transitions, and another with the Ministry of Social Development to provide transition to employment brokerage services. All of this is challenging in the current environment! I am contracted on a short-term basis as a Principal Advisor to assist with establishing connections with schools and their careers/transition teachers. We are working out ways in which we can help schools in this strange environment. It’s great to be working with such a dedicated, innovative group of people.
