No events to show

Description

Climate change is here. Already this year the world has seen flooding, heatwaves and winds like we have never seen in our lifetimes. In the Hutt Valley we have had one of the wettest winters on record which has seen many hundreds of slips affecting households and travel.

Business has a critical role to play in tackling climate change and customer preferences are shifting to reflect this. But where do you start?

This session will provide information, tools and tips for a business thinking about their action to tackle climate change.

 Speakers and topics include:

  • Opening remarks: Patrick McKibbin (CEO Hutt Valley Chamber of Commerce) and Jörn Scherzer (Head of Climate and Waste, Hutt City Council)
  • David Laing General Manager at EKOS - How small-medium businesses might measure, reduce and offset carbon emissions
  • Kiwibank - Tom Williams, Head of Sustainable Finance at Kiwibank, Sustainable business loans to support your business
  • Q&A – facilitated by Hutt City Council

One business will be randomly drawn from the attendees to receive a FREE energy and carbon assessment which will highlight the key areas for reducing your emissions while saving your business money.

Refreshments will be provided.
