Sometimes life surprises us and things don’t go as planned.  Having measures in place to ensure everything and everyone that is important to you is protected is essential.  That’s where I come in.  As a specialist lawyer in the areas of wills and estate planning, trusts and relationship property, I have seen what happens when people don’t get the right advice or if documents are not structured correctly or fail to include key considerations. Helping people to avoid these risks with documents that they can trust is my specialty.  Gem Legal is all about providing clients with peace of mind through education, advice and well-crafted bespoke documents. 

Elizabeth Moloney-Geany | Velocity Financial 

As a Financial Adviser, I'm conscious that every decision we make in life has a financial implication and my role is to help you align your finances with your goals and make day-to-day decisions easy. At Velocity we aim to bolster the financial literacy of Kiwis, helping to alleviate financial anxieties, and opening up the possibilities of what can be achieved. We work with our clients to formulate a plan for the future which adapts and grows as they do.

My particular focus since moving into the finance industry has been improving financial outcomes for women. I do this by supporting women to identify and achieve their financial goals and feel confident in managing their money independently. As part of this work I write a monthly blog on topics that affect women and maintain an Instagram page @what_would_she_do.vf. This platform provides financial content for those who might not be prepared to consult with an adviser yet but still require and deserve sound advice. 

In my past life, I was a nurse, so helping people is essentially my modus operandi (I'm also quite resilient and not easily grossed out!).  I love that my current role allows me to be a part of so many lives just as nursing did, but over a lifetime, sharing in the exciting times as well as the stressful ones.
