The Resource Management Act (RMA) provides several ways for you to get involved in council processes and influence decisions that affect the environment.
Making a submission on a proposal is an effective way to get involved with council decisions under the RMA.
We were joined by Sarah Jenkin, a Senior Planner from GHD who explained how to make a submission step by step.
Sarah has worked as a planner for over 20 years, including running consent application and decision-making processes. She is part of the consultant team working on RiverLink and has been involved in the application from the start -her current role on the project is supporting engagement from a planning perspective.
Anna McLellan, Senior Resource Advisor, Environmental Regulation Greater Wellington (Lead Regulator) also joined to answer questions.
The submission period is currently open and closes on Wednesday, 22 September 2021 at 5pm. If you would like to submit a formal submission you can do so here.
